The Internet appears to run in my family. Not only do I have this interesting Internet site, but my Mom has a better one! That's right, my Mom, who for years owned a gift shop in the quaint new england seaside town of Manchester by the Sea now sells model ships on the Internet.
My Mom is quite the expert at model ships and boats. Her store sells some really nice, large ship models. They are perfect for your mantel, office or at your cottage. Her business is located in Gloucester Massachusetts (that's pronounced Gloster and rhymes with imposter). Gloucester is the largest fishing seaport in the United States and is home to quite a large fishing fleet. It is the perfect location for a model ship store. In that area, you have to know your boats and My Mom does.
My personal favorite is the model lobster boat. It isn't that I like lobster boats per se, I just like lobster. If they had a prime rib boat, I would probably like that as well. If I had a lobster boat, I would install a butter churn on it. With lobster and butter, I could live forever.
My father-in-law likes the Coast Guard Boats because he did his time in the Coast Guard. From the stories he told, he spent most of his time shooting pool. I suppose he sailed during some of the time though.
Anyway, If you want to visti my Mom's website it is: WindwardGifts.com. If you are looking for a great gift for the boat lover, her website would be a great place to look. You might want to pay attention to the sizes, some of those boats are over 3 feet tall. They are pretty spectacular. My Mom is a great business person, she is always talking about filling orders, inventory controls, shipping information. I am really proud of her ability to adapt to the 'net. My Mom is great!
